On May 15, 2024, the Perdana Leadership Foundation hosted its post-Syawal Hari Raya lunch with our Honorary President, YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and his wife, YABhg Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Hj Mohd Ali. The programme started with a recitation of Doa, followed by a special message from Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. In his short message, Tun stressed that Malaysians should be grateful that we are able to celebrate festivities in peace and safety, as there are people in other parts of the world who are unable to enjoy even this basic right to live safe from harm. He drew attention to the plight of the Palestinians who are subjected to continued violence and have been displaced from their homes. Nevertheless, we must not lose hope that peace will prevail. Tun also reminded staff of the need to follow prayers (doa) with action (usaha) in any endeavour.
After lunch, staff were treated to a lovely impromptu performance of Hari Raya songs by the Sri Cahaya staff, guided by Tun Dr Siti Hasmah.
It was a short but special occasion for PLF staff to celebrate Eid with PLF’s Honorary President, YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and YABhg Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Hj Mohd Ali.
