Synopsis:
It’s not easy to pursue your dreams. There are many challenges and obstacles waiting out there, including “dream thieves”, naysayers who will tell you that what you are trying to achieve is crazy and impossible.
These dream thieves will always turn a blind eye to your capabilities, and will regard your efforts with condescension and cynicism. They seem to make it their goal to make sure that you fail and never get back up again.

ULU YAM DI LIVERPOOL proves that dreams can become reality. The author was once just another Malay boy in Ulu Yam, but who is now making his name in Liverpool. Read this book from the heart. It’s not just the author’s story, it’s your story, our story. The story for all dreamers.

Comments:
Ulu Yam di Liverpool is a lifelog of the writer, Nazali Noor, from when he was just a small boy in Ulu Yam, Selangor to when he made his way to a foreign country. This is an inspiring zero to hero story. I enjoyed each and every one of the book’s chapters especially the ones that touched on family. This book also gave me so much insight about life which I had taken for granted.

The author also shares the positive spirit with which he views the world. The anecdotes throughout repeat his belief that things happen for a reason, and the lessons learned will make us better people. The author’s writing style makes the book highly engaging and relatable.

This book is recommended for those who need a motivational push and a reminder that dreams can come true.

Excerpt:
“Apa yang saya nak simpulkan ialah ‘upbringing’ ini bakal membentuk jati diri kita sebenarnya. Pengalaman-pengalaman sebegini yang sentiasa saya terapkan pada anak-anak saya walapun kami menetap di negara ‘mat salih’ yang budayanya, bahasanya, makanan dan peradabannya sangat-sangat berbeza.” Page: 54

“Jangan berputus asa jika dilanda ujian kerana ada ketikanya ALLAH S.W.T menduga kita kerana mahu melihat sejauh mana tegarnya usaha dan istiqamah kita menggapai impian. Kadang-kala ALLAH S.W.T lewatkan sedikit tercapainya impian kita kerana DIA mahu menganugerahkan kejayaan yang berlipat kali ganda.” Page: 471
