- To provide training in cataloguing & classification of information packages in libraries & resource centres.
- To improve knowledge and skills on daily tasks for library staff & cataloguers (new & experienced)
- To expose library staff & librarians to latest cataloguing rules and standards
- To foster knowledge exchange among library staff and librarians
