ORAL HISTORY WITH YABHG TUN DR MAHATHIR MOHAMAD PART 2 SESSION 1

The last time we had our Oral History session with Tun was more than 10 years ago, in 2006 and 2007. A lot of things have happened in the ten years hence, and we thought it was due for Perdana Leadership Foundation to capture once more the thoughts and ideas of our longest-serving Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

This time, our focus is not on past policies but more on the big issues Malaysia faces, and what his views on them are. Tun is one of the few leaders born before Malayan Independence, who went through the hardships of war during the Japanese Occupation, and who subsequently played an active role in politics during the early years of the nation.

Today was only the first session during which he responded on topics such as political systems and affirmative action. Our interviewer was former journalist and columnist, Mr Oon Yeoh.

The conversation(s) will be published online as well as in print, so do watch this space or follow our Facebook page for updates.
